Some may refer to this type of blanket as a jean cloth blanket: however, it seems references to a cloth blanket from the period are blankets made up from regular cloth which was not purposely woven for blanketing. These blankets are purpose woven as blankets. They are woven not in a jean (1/2 twill) weave but in a blanket (2/2 twill) weave.
