These jackets seem to have been in production from the Spring of 1862 to mid-1864. They are seen in photographs in use through to the end of the war. These jackets seem to have been produced by the Richmond Clothing Bureau primarily for the A.N.V. They typically a nine button closure with a button affixed through each shoulder strap.

** Remember a blank RDII can easily be altered to a RDI, RDIII or Commutation jacket from a blank.

 

This jacket features our oxford woolen jean cloth

  • Six piece body,
  • two piece sleeves,
  • non buttoning belt loops,
  • non buttoning shoulder straps,
  • They are lined in cotton osnaburg and have an inside pocket.
     

Please be sure that your blank fits you before finishing work is done as we will not accept returns of blanks once they have had finishing work done by anyone other than B. & B. Tart.

A blank includes the assembled pieces and instructions for finishing the garment. You will need to close the lining at the neck with a few whip stitches, work the button holes,sew on the buttons and topstitch the jacket if you choose to. Buttons and thread are not included but are available for an additional charge.

This is not a one time run. Some sizes may not always be in stock. Generally we will produce sizes 38-52 at various times for this jacket style.
