This jacket is made of our "Medium Gray" jean cloth and lined in our quality osnaburg. Hand top stitched and button holed in Logwood dyed thread. Made in the USA of materials manufactured in the USA. It has a six piece body, two piece sleeves, non buttoning belt loops, button and button hole in shoulder straps, a nine block I button closure. It is lined in cotton osnaburg and has an inside pocket.
These jackets seem to have been produced by the Richmond Clothing Bureau primarily for the A.N.V.
These jackets seem to have been in production from the Spring of 1862 to mid-1864. They are seen in photographs in use through to the end of the war.
